Subject:Autism Awareness Month, Bowling for Autism

Friends and Families of those with Autism:

The month of April is National Autism Awareness Month and is more than a month away, so why are we sending this important message now?  Because Autism is a 365 day-a- year battle and we can’t afford to let another day go by without making the public aware of this growing epidemic.  More than ever, we need your help.  Our organization, the Autism Society of Butler County, would like to be considered as a recipient of your donations.  We rely on donations and fundraisers as our only source of income.  We are requesting your participation in our fundraising drive-  BOWLING FOR AUTISM.

Business Donation Forms can be obtained by contacting  Dave or Mary.  We hope that you will request your employer and others that you may know or frequently do business with to donate.  It would be nice if each family could do their part and get at least two businesses to donate to this cause.  In addition to monetary donations, we are also asking for donations of items that can be added to the Chinese Auction or given away as door prizes.  If you would like to donate items for the auction or can obtain items from businesses, please call Dave or Mary to schedule pick-up or drop off at our office by April 21, 2008.  We need to have time to put the baskets together.

The  BOWLING FOR AUTISM event is a good opportunity for families of our group to get together.  Many families take advantage of this time to network with other families.  It is a fun time for everyone!  We have a fun filled day of food and drink, raffles, door prizes, and of course, bowling.  There are bumper lanes available for children who may need them.  Please do your part to make this a successful event again this year.  You should have received a tri fold brochure in this month’s mailing for you and your family to use to gather sponsors for donations.  The brochure also has a pre-registration form attached which we are asking you to return so we can get a count of those planning to attend.  This information will help us in planning so that we can provide enough food and drink for everyone.

Because of the large increase in the number of autism cases in Butler County, we have found a real need for our services.  The Autism Society of Butler County is a local chapter of the Autism Society of America.  It is only through the generosity and support of individuals like you that we can aid the families of this devastating disorder, autism.  Please take the time to read the fundraising form in your mailing, and please join us as we go  BOWLING FOR AUTISM” on April 27th from 12:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.  If you are unable to join us and would like to send a tax-deductible donation, please make checks payable to “ASBC”.  Together we can generate the much needed attention that people living with autism so desperately need, not only during the month of April, but year round.  Thank you in advance for your support.

Sincerely,
